For transabdominal sampling of amniotic fluid (generally performed between 15 and 18 weeks of pregnancy) for prenatal diagnosis of genetic disorders of the foetus.
Also used for cytogenetic and biochemical examinations. The mandrel is fitted with an echo-marked tip that allows for ultrasound-guided insertion.
The cannula is equipped with a sliding stop to determine the insertion depth of the needle and a luer lock connection for collecting amniotic fluid by syringe.
