Intrauterine insemination
Disposable Medical Devices
Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a minimally invasive first-stage assisted reproduction technique, usually used in those cases where the difficulty in achieving a pregnancy does not depend on precise factors because all parameters appear to be within the normal range. Disposable medical devices for intrauterine insemination by RI.MOS. allow easy transfer of semen into the uterine cavity. The centimetric cannulae are transparent, radiopaque and soft for gentle and atraumatic insertion. The rounded tip can be tapered and open or rounded and provided with two opposing holes. The Luer Lock fitting acts as a handle and allows secure connection to the syringe. The position of the side fins mirrors that of the holes on the tip, for easy orientation of the cannula during placement. RI.MOS. also has steel mandrel cannulae, which facilitate insertion of the ejaculate. The disposable cannulae for intrauterine insemination of RI.MOS. are manufactured in Italy according to the standards laid down in ISO 13485; they are sterilised with EtO (ethylene oxide) and individually packaged.
